Housed in the eight room Federal style mansion built by Dr. John Weir in 1836, the Madison County Historical Museum showcases and interprets the history of Madison County Illinois and its people through period furnished rooms; displays of antiques, quilts and historic costumes; exhibits of Native American and Pioneer artifacts; and a local history and genealogy research library and archives.
